•           The floral budget needs to be set.  The general rule of thumb is that flowers usually make up 10% to 15% of your overall wedding budget.  The average total floral bill, according to industry estimates, is $800 to $3000.  Knowing your budget will greatly help in selecting the perfect flowers.

•           We highly recommend for you to look at some pictures of wedding flowers to get an idea of what styles, colors, and flowers you like and dislike.  During our consultation, we can talk about what you have found and guide you into the right direction.

•           Wedding magazines, books, and web sites are wonderful resources to look through.  Here are a few sites to check out:

•     Pictures and color swatches of your bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses will also be extremely helpful in selecting the proper style, colors, and flowers.  It is also helpful to know what the mothers' gowns and the attire of the groom and groomsmen will be wearing so that we can properly accessorize.

Here is a wedding/event flower schedule:

•           6 - 12 months before the wedding/event:  Reserve the date with Blooming Events and make an appointment for your complimentary consultation to discuss your tastes, needs, and budget.  Please bring any pictures/color swatches of dresses and other pictures that may be helpful in describing your style, mood, theme, etc.

•           2 - 4 months before the wedding/event:  We will visit the ceremony and reception/party locations, if necessary, to determine any design or color needs.

•           4 - 6 weeks before the wedding/event:  Contact Blooming Events for an appointment to review your floral order and make any necessary corrections and/or additions.

•           2 weeks before the wedding/event:  Make the final check with Blooming Events.  Double check that the delivery times and locations are correct.
